What I've noticed is, in general, half of male geeks are obese and the other half are deathly skinny. I never see thin female geeks, and I don't mean thin in the "attractive" way. They're just always fat.

Really? I see similar patterns in both genders. Either fat or gangly-skinny, with very few falling in between. Seems more extreme with guys, though.

I've seen plenty of thin (and fat and everything between) female geeks, but in my experience the fat ones tend to be the loudest/most opinionated. Maybe that makes then more visible.

Uh... I've been to plenty of conventions and local geek haunts, the vast majority of people I see are average to slightly chubby. Honestly, I see way more overweight men than I do overweight women.

*as a deathly skinny female geek, waves hello* Most of my friends I go to cons with are more thin than fat too, but they're a more healthy thin than me. :P

No, female geeks have about the same body type distribution.

I suspect you don't go to conventions much. (Or non-anime conventions) I've seen a lot of very thin female geeks at conventions.

maybe some of them don't want to post pictures of themselves because an attractive woman in fandom is always called an attention whore/a faker/clearly only out for attention from guys? see this secret for an example.
