Re: Episode morals that make you mad?
I think I'm less mad about the moral itself and more mad about the character butchery that had to occur for that.
Re: Episode morals that make you mad?
Is it any good.
Re: Episode morals that make you mad?
It also had this whole setup where somehow the big competition on the island was Hiccup v Snotlout and not the much more obvious Astrid v Snotlout or even Hiccup v Astrid. Like they just sidelined Astrid the entire episode and I was like... wtf.

Ugh, no kidding... I actually think Hiccup vs. Astrid would have been far more interesting.
Re: Episode morals that make you mad?
But yeah, basically any episode where it's about the dragon bonding is good. And I genuinely really like that they're showing the slow progression of the other Vikings and Stoick especially towards accepting the dragons the way the kids do (and aw, the one where they were all sick).
Re: Episode morals that make you mad?
Yeah, I do like that they spent a few episodes trying to work out the logistics of living with the dragons (the other animals being skittish around them, the way ending dragon-fighting and -hunting has changed or even eliminated some jobs), and still have some people who are uncertain about them. Though I could do without that Mildew jerkass, though. Argh...
Re: Episode morals that make you mad?
Okay, yeah, can't resist. Hunting it down now.
Re: Episode morals that make you mad?
And, as stated elsewhere, the show it usually pretty good. (-:

And the whole, "Hiccup bragging a little about doing well in the contest (for the first time in his life) = him apparently being a complete dick who deserves to be yelled at". NO.
And it's not part of the moral, but the fact that it was Snotlout and not ASTRID who was usually won the context? WTF, show?
Re: Episode morals that make you mad?
Also I kind of had to laugh/cringe that everyone was kind of egging on Hiccup and being a dick to him and he is MISSING A LEG, YOU ASSHOLES. I know that's more normal in Viking society and all but give the dude a break maybe! Or maybe I just would have liked it acknowledged in the writing, like, it's cool he's still participating at the same level.
Re: Episode morals that make you mad?
Yeah, that's a good point. But, in general, I kinda wish they'd deal with that a little more. He hasn't had it very long, but it seems like he just started walking around on it with no issues? Really? d-:
Re: Episode morals that make you mad?
I think we're meant to infer that he was still dealing with it in Gift of the Night Fury (falling on the ice) and he's since gotten used to it, but there are times I'm like "this could be a good time to mention..."
