I don't think AYRT was projecting. I'm pretty sure they meant they were angry that the girl was acting like the reason her dad might kick her out is because she says she's queer, and not because she's 21 and living at home and refuses to get a job. Especially since she's already told her dad that she's ~chosen~ to be a lesbian and he obviously hasn't kicked her out for it yet.
