This. I do like Tolkien's lighter books, The Hobbit, Father Giles of Ham and such, but LOTR, read it once, liked the plot but don't feel the need to slog through that again. It's right up there with Victor Hugo's work in my mind, you know, lots of words getting in the way of the story.
