The Bond women might entice the het shippers, but they are usually so bland and undeveloped and rarely have more than 10 minutes of staying power even in canon.

Yeah, it's a shame they can't get any serious actresses to take the female parts in Bond films.

No, I just disregarded her for shipping because she is older -- same reason I disregarded the old Q. For some reason people aren't all that interested in the romantic lives of old people -- and for women especially the age that crosses over from hot to yuck is not actually all that old.

It was actually the last 7 movies. And yes, she is THE Bond Girl. She was the only good thing about the Pierce Brosnan movies and she's been the best thing about the Daniel Craig ones, too. I wish they had chosen someone else to replace her because Ralph Fiennes is one of the most detestable people in the industry. Judi became M; Ralph Fiennes will always just be the scumbag on the screen pretending to be someone infinitely better than he really is (including Voldemort).

He's an admitted misogynist who emotionally abuses women. He cheats on his partner and then blames her for it (age, looks, relative fame, fortune). All of this is confirmed and publicly known because it was big deal when he divorced Alex Kingston after having an affair for most of their marriage (which was only a small amount of the time they'd been together). Some women have also claimed that he's physically abusive and while he hasn't admitted it, the claims are credible and the behavior is common with other men who treat women the way we know for a fact he does.
