I guess this is what bothers me about the secret. If someone's dislike of a character revealed to you a particular personality trait they had that you don't like, then your reason for not liking them is fundamentally the trait, *not* their dislike of the character. The attitude in the secret seems to still make it all about the character, which still has a vibe of "I don't like you because you fandom wrong".

This comment helped me put that into words I guess lol.
