I still don't see what was so bad about the Penny Arcade dickwolves strip, and I don't find their response to the backlash to be especially unreasonable.

I think it was the whole dragging the joke instead of just letting the matter drop what was the big mistake there.

Drawing a picture of it in retaliation? Making shirts? That's what a teen might do in reaction, not a grown adult.
