Because clearly the world should run on your perception of what reasons others should have to like things. So they like the cat ears, so what? Right now, you're the one behaving like a bitch and being condescending about why people like what and the reason why you would want to "murder" people for it. I don't like cat ears any more than you do (or Loveless for that matter, where the only reason the characters have ears is because they're virgin, WTF Yun Kouga), but could you please stop being such a generalizing brat? Some example you're setting for a community you moderate. Jesus.

Listen. The only issue I have with you is the fact that you (and the OP to a degree) posted it in a manner that would trigger the wank. OP in one place, how exactly was the way you worded it any better? I'm only asking you to show some professionalism here. It seems like you need it badly, unless triggering wank is your thing. Then I can't say I have much respect for you at all, and neither will anyone else.

Yes, the way in which I worded it wasn't conducive to open and fair discussion, but as I said in another comment, considering how articulate I usually am (at least compared to the comment that sparked this), one would think that it would have been taken as a joke. I haven't tried to fuel the flame in the rest of the comments, so I don't know how you're getting that I'm being unprofessional. And hey, not every comment I make has to be perfectly professional. So what if I'm a mod? 98% of the time I don't even reply to inflammatory things here even though I want to, because I'm a mod. I think that's a lot better of a track record than a lot of anonymouses here.

Just because I'm a mod doesn't mean I'm not allowed to have fun, or a spazfit. And if I lose your respect over that, then so be it. Sorry.

That's the whole point. You may have been having a spazfit or whatever the hell, but on a general point of view your comment did seem more bashing than it was amusing. The fact that you got as many people offended should show you that alone.

A re-read shows that yes, it was be funny (after reading comments by others, it's clear why the double sets of ears thing comes into place for that particular series). But please don't misunderstand, you would lose my and other people's respect for intentionally posting to create wank, not for being humorous. :)

Y'know, considering the topic, I'm inclined to think that no matter how diplomatically I worded any displeasure with the entire genre, I would have offended someone. There's really no way to win here.

And yeah *dies* I honestly just wanted to have my spazfit, not create wank. Perhaps next time I should post a disclaimer in sparkly letters at the top of my spazfits.
