Lol, I know I love him. He's mentioned slash in some con panels, too, and he always pokes fun at people's reactions to it being mentioned, since it's supposed to be some sort of ~dark fandom secret~.

There was actually a bit of wank in fandom about that interview, since people thought it meant he was calling people who wrote and read slash weird and erasing queer people who wrote slash or some bullshit. I'm a queer person who writes slash, and I can safely say that, yeah, some of it is pretty fucking weird. And honestly, fanfic in general seems pretty damn weird if you're not a part of/familiar with fandom. Also, most people are still under the impression it's written mostly by straight women.
