Re: Question for People with Periods

Partner gave me permission to tell this story.

Several years ago, they attempted to use a cup because tampons were really uncomfortable and pads grossed them right the fuck out. They liked it - while it was in there. But getting it out, apparently the suction seal didn't want to break, no matter how much they tugged or manipulated the cup. It didn't want to come out. So they stuck scissors up there and cut the bottom out to break the seal, but it still refused to budge. So they had to cut up the side of it to get it to move enough to come out.

Yeah. The cup lead to scissors up a vag, so they've got some pretty vehement personal hatred towards the damn things. And they're pretty jealous of anybody else who's able to use them properly, because tampons haven't really gotten any easier to bear. But that's what we're both stuck with. (I'm hesitant to use a cup mostly because I have slowly worsening hemophobia.)

Holy crap, I'm reeeeeally glad I've never had an issue like that with my cup. I can't say I blame your partner for the hatred. D:

Oh god, I'm glad I am not the only one who had to do that. /shudders. But in my case, it was a matter of being a naive teen who masturbated with a mouse bottle and the lid popped off inside, and I desperately tried to get it out with various things. In the end, none of that worked at all and I ashamedly had to get my mother to drive me to the hospital to have it removed.

Now I was curious about cups, but I am never EVER going to use one now.

I'm fine with tampons though, even though I bleed through them like I'm dying.
