I say stay out of it, but do something nice for your mom, remind her that she's got you.

In general, it's better not to mess in the affairs of other couples, at least not in a situation like this. It's unlikely you will make anything better, and there are many ways you could make things worse.

I think I'll buy her that perfume tomorrow if I can :( and, I've got a Dad day coming up. Maybe I'll ask him what he got her? he might just be being secretive? or I can offer him some money if he really doesn't have much
