It does seem to have worked. Although Google still suggests 'Cassandra Clare Plagiarism'.

I've read excerpts and they were horrible. And I have no desire to see if they were representative of the whole.

I was told that her books are basically her horrible HP fics with the serial numbers filed off... so I'd imagine that they're full of plagiarism, too. I seriously wonder how the publisher hasn't been sued by now.

Pretty much. I got as far as the spoilt blonde brat boy talking about how his father gave him a wild falcon to train, and then when it obeyed him perfectly and loved him, his father killed it. Because he was supposed to train it, not make it loving and 'useless'. Or something. I don't care enough to actually get the story spot on. But I went "hunh, that's familia-OH GOD THIS IS FROM THAT AWFUL DRACO FANFIC I READ YEARS AGO. CASSANDRA CLAIRE. THAT'S WHO THIS IS. HOW DID I FORGET THAT NAME."

So, her HP fics were plagiarized from other sources... and she basically just changed the names for her "books". So why hasn't the publisher been sued yet? From what I heard, she lifted entire scenes/huge chunks of dialogue from things like Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
