Although it's kind of a Roulette wheel gamble, if you can get along with your siblings, it can be the most awesome thing ever.

Also, Mark Ruffalo looks adorable in a suit.

WHAT I CAME HERE TO SAY, followed by, what is this where can I find it.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
The suit? I don't know. The movie's The Brothers Bloom so if you look it up maybe you'll find more info on it.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-20 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
What's this from?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
The Brothers Bloom.

Thank you!

There are a lot of bad things that can come with having siblings, but I wouldn't give mine up for the world. Especially now that we're all grown and don't bicker over ridiculous things anymore.

Yep, when you grow up, instead of bickering, you get to tell funny family stories about how much you used bicker over ridiculous things.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
the 'horror stories' aren't because they are siblings, but most probably because they are nasty people...family is awesome and precious

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
lol you clearly have never had an asshole sibling

I don't think it makes me a nasty person that my brother is a sexist pig who has actually threatened my life.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
nayrt

but that's what ayrt to said, being a sibling isn't what makes it terrible, it's that the person themselves is terrible

tl;dr: anon you replied to isn't disagreeing with what you just said

I think your brother would be the "nasty person" in this scenario, not you

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
I come from a large family (6 siblings), and while I do not know how my parents did not go insane, I loved my big family and definitely wouldn't trade it. Sure, there's a lot of wackiness, but once everyone grew up, we're all really good friends. Everyone comes home for Christmas, and it's a great time - even when we do occasionally bicker and snark, it's not a big deal. It's noisy, but fun! Just my personal experience.

IMO, I can't see bickering and jockeying for attention as 'horror stories' - I'd save that for the truly dysfunctional families, which come in all shapes and sizes.

Well, good siblings are awesome, bad siblings are horrible. I've got some of both, but on the whole I'd say having good ones makes it worth having others that are shitty.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
It really depends on the sibling and how you and their personalities combine.

I have a brother who is several years older than me, and we mostly got along very well growing up even if sometimes I did wish I had someone closer to my age, but I've seen other siblings interact and, holy crap, I would not want to share a household with them. Someone would simply wind up injured and feelings would be irreparably hurt, I just know it.

I love that movie ♥

It makes me wish I had a brother like Stephen, too ;; not an asshole like the one I have!

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
oh my god I LOVE that movie

and yeah, it's...kind of a gamble. My younger brother and I are super close, but we weren't always. And it's not like that for everyone. There are a lot of people in the world who are just assholes, and those people have families who kinda have to deal with them all their lives

I guess it's all a matter of the people. I have two brothers (one older, one younger) and a sister (older) and we got along pretty well as kids. Sure, we had our fights and whatnot, but we spent most of our non-school time together because we lived out in the country and there wasn't anybody else around.

I *liked* my siblings, and still do. We have fun, we reminisce, we poke at each other and rile each other up and help each other out.

I think the 'horror stories' are because your friends had crappy people for siblings, not *because* they had siblings.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
I love this movie, but I think having a sibling like Stephen would be more trouble than it was worth. |D

Came here to say this. As open as you can take the ending of the movie, no, I don't think I'd like to have Stephen as a sibling. XD;

that and hotdamn I'd be lusting over my brother so bad if he was...
