Never write RPF for anything if you want to avoid being a shit person. You are on the threshold of the abyss op. Don't step over.

Ah, well. I've crossed your arbitrary threshold. I'm officially a "shit person." What do I win?

[personal profile] fingalsanteater 2012-12-21 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Eh. I've already got that. Writing crack RPF seems like it would earn me a hell of a lot less shitty karma than some other things I've done. Not too worried.

Now, if you had told me I had won a lifetime supply of pidan? And I had to eat some everyday? That's pretty horrific.

Porny RPF is creepy and inappropriate IMO. Fluffy RPF or just really generic? doesn't have to be. This, though...sounds like it could be kinda bad because of some of the things that could be insinuated

But if you just keep it on your comp...it's not nearly as creepy to me as writing porn of real people

Oh, yeah, no. Fuck that. I read RPS, i've written it. Suck it, Noodly.

[personal profile] insanenoodlyguy 2012-12-21 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
Then you are a shit person. And I will not let you suck me. This honor is not deserved by you.

*dies laughing*

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
But they were telling YOU to suck it, not the other way 'round.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you don't sound like a shitty person at all.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Wait, what? All I know is it's a goofy basketball anime, terrorist threats what?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Somebody who claimed to have been wronged by the mangaka have been sending threatening letters with harmful substances enclosed to the mangaka and some anime stores, causing a number of events to be cancelled. http://sukikatte.wordpress.com/2012/12/08/naver-matome-updated-1122-kuroko-no-basket-threats-roundup-of-the-posts-by-the-culprit-the-reaper-in-mourning/ has some translated posts made by the culprit.

That's a pretty extreme thing to think someone capable of without evidence, but unless you're treating it as a serious reality, then you're not hurting anyone, so whatever. Everyone should let their imagination run wild sometimes.

Considering that the guy's first two targets were the author's old highschool and university, if this were true then the author would be a really bad person - trying to hurt innocent kids with chemicals and all...

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
What does the bit about Winnie the Pooh mean?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
winnie the pooh is a one shot wonder, the only thing its author is known for
tabaqui: (Default)

[personal profile] tabaqui 2012-12-21 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Uh, no? He's best known for the Pooh stories, but he was a well-known and successful playwright, as well as poet.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
that's what I got from the secret

real life is different obviously

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
...I truly only knew about Winnie the Pooh. Then again, I find myself to be quite ordinary.
tabaqui: (Default)

[personal profile] tabaqui 2012-12-21 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, but the Anon above said Pooh was a 'one hit wonder' - it wasn't, it's just the thing most people know. Pooh wasn't Milne's only success.

To be honest, at first I also thought that threats might have been engineered by the company to make the series more popular, but then I figured it couldn't be like that because:
1) the series was plenty popular already
2) in Japan scandal = bad
3) actually cancelling events means financial losses, what kind of company would do that
4) sending harmful substances to schools is a crime, I doubt people would resort to actual crimes to promote a series.

And I don't want to think that the author is doing it himself - I had many happy moments reading the manga and watching the anime, I don't want to think that the author of something that good would resort to such cheap tactics to be more popular.
