And an actual gay princess. Not just the fandom shoe-horned canon onto Merida. I cringe every time someone says a girl who does not want to be forced into marriage at age fourteen ~must~ be a lesbian. I guess the guys who didn't want to marry her either were gay as well.

AYRT - All of the "Merida must be gay!" stuff bothered me a lot, for the reasons you said. I want an actual gay princess, too. And for people to stop assuming that if a female character isn't interested in marriage or romance or that's not the focus of her story that that means she must be a total lesbian. Srsly, ppl.

I have seen a lot of stuff about how her suitors were also gay... I guess some people think that if your major goal in life isn't to get married (to a different-sex person) you're gay. Who knew?
