Pretty long text

[personal profile] elephantinegrace 2012-12-22 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Usually, when I ask for someone's opinion, they give me a speech that bores me to tears, and when I ask for how someone thinks something works, they give a truly informative explanation that shows why they hold that opinion. And by pretending I have no or little knowledge of what's going on, nobody spends time trying to convince me that my viewpoint is wrong. Basically:

"Hey, what do you think of this?"

"I think x and y. Why do you ask?"

"Well, to be honest, I thought a and b."

"...you suck."

vs.

"Okay, I don't understand a thing about this."

"Well, x and y, which will lead to z."

"Hmm, I never thought of it like that before. I guess it's not always a or b."

So as I said, you are a liar. maybe a liar with shit friends, but you are in the company of your own apparently, since I wouldn't take the lot of you.

Well, if your friendships are based on lies and decpetion, you don't have a circle of friends. You got some horrible high school clique straight out of mean girls.

i would suggest you get new friends, or better at conversation. you shouldn't need to lie to have an interesting discussion ffs, how hard is that to understand
