Deep down, back when I was a christian, I'd have possibly felt- though not said outloud the same thing on reincarnation as Op does on heaven. I -liked- the idea of reincarnation- getting more chances to get it right and avoid hell. More chances to live. To 'retake the test' as it were if things went down badly. But the idea it was true? Nah, I can't say I seriously entertained the notion for long.
And eh, if they ask specifically what you think of the concept of heaven, well sometimes people choose to be honest and there are harsher ways to say they don't believe in it. The afterlife or lack thereof can be conclusions reached for variously personal reasons as simple as a gut feeling. This way of saying it seems sad in a way to me- like they wish it was true but it isn't. I can relate to that feeling even from back when I was a believer.
Though to me, heaven is a very small price to pay for there not to be a hell.
