New commenter here. The thing I miss the most is the sense of community that LJ and mailing lists and some forums had.

I agree. I made some good friends through LJ, mailing lists, and some forums (mostly those with a good off topic board) and I still talk to a couple of them now.

There's still a few communities that are active on LJ but slowly they're dying out and it just makes me nostalgic.
