They are super adorable! One of my neighbors had to watch some bats while his prof was out of town awhile back and I got to hold/help feed them. That being said, I wouldn't approach any wild bats, since that's kind of idiotic. I used to love sitting outside at night and watching them go after bugs when I was little, though.

Well, yeah, approaching most wild animals without an expert present is a bad idea. When I was in Costa Rica a classmate and I got to see some wild bats in their tents (tent-making bats like E. alba, though sadly we didn't see any of that species) when we were with one of the employees of the conservation center we were at who knew what he was doing.

Bats in general are cute and really under-loved.
