Re: The Next Doctor?
Moffat has a tendency to reduce female characters to sad little caricatures. In Moffatland, a strong woman is one who solely relies on her "sex appeal" to make her strong. That is not to say that sexual empowerment is bad, but when it is the only form of empowerment Moffat utilizes, its pretty bad.
Amy, in "expressing" her "girl power" is a kiss-o-gram (or the kiddie version of a prostitute). That is how she is introduced as a grown up, as a woman who had Doctor (DADDY) issues and in an effort to deal, gets a job where she pleases men.
River was introduced with the potential to be a strong character. However, again, Moffat fucks it up, by reducing her to a pile of mental illness and obsession over the Doctor.
The few women the Moffat-era has introduced that had strength in ways that didn't relate to a vagina or mental illness, didn't last long.
If he were to make a female Doctor, it would be tragic.
Plus Moffat would never allow a female Doctor, because that would be breaking tradition and he would consider it an insult to the history and the show. YES, he is that much of a self absorbed ass.
Phew, sorry got tl;dr there...I have feelings.
Re: The Next Doctor?
Yeah, this seems to be the general consensus...huh...I didn't know much about Moffat other than that he frequently pisses off the fandom but from what I'm hearing I totally agree...
