I thought that was the case in the books, yeah. But to be fair to AYRT, I think that the film strongly suggests that Ori is the youngest (ie - if I remember correctly - the Goblin King says something to the effect that they'll start torturing the youngest of the company first and the camera immediately cuts to Ori looking frightened).

Ori is among the youngest, but not the youngest overall. It's common knowledge among fans of dwarves that the length of beard depends upon age. If Kili had actually had some sort of deformity to keep him from growing a beard, he'd likely be shunned by other dwarves, and considering the limited amount of female dwarves, probably be unable to take a wife among his own kind.

I'm pretty sure Tolkien never actually made any remarks about age = length of beard.

That would certainly make Bombur oldest of them.
