I just stress ate half a german chocolate cake, three cups of milk, some lunch meat, and a bag of doritos. I feel really ill and I think if I just threw up I would feel so much better but I'm worried that might make me bulimic?

It won't make you bulimic if it's an exception and not a rule, I think.

But I wouldn't advise on doing that, tbh.

And why would you prefer throwing up to being slightly sick? Is it that bad? Because vomiting is pretty much the worst physiological experience in my entire life. I can't imagine anyone doing it willingly (if they're not poisoned, of course, or do it for other medical reasons).

For me, and my mother, when we feel nauseous we generally WANT to be sick. It's unpleasant, but momentary, and it generally makes us feel better afterwards.

I would far rather be sick in the morning (which isn't uncommon for me atm ;-) than feel nauseous on the bus ride in. I realise that this is a different type of sickness, but I thought this before too.

Uh...no? Bulimia is the psychological need to hurl. If you ate too much and feel sick, then nausea is normal. O_o

Not really. You would be bulimic if you ate huge amounts of food and then threw up because you can't stand them in your body and you feel disgusted with yourself for eating. What you did is stress eating so much your body can't handle it and you feel nauseous and feel it would pass if you threw up. That's not the same.

However: if that happens regularly and/or if you stress-eat often and to that extent, you should consider seeking a professional's help, maybe you have anxiety issues and therapy could help.

I don't think you'd be bulimic if you did it once, just like not eating for a day wouldn't make you anorexic. But still, don't make yourself throw up. Just wait a while (or go to sleep if you can) and you will feel better soon. And then remember this next time you feel compelled to eat a ton of food all at once.

Bulimia is a habit/compulsion to vomit after eating (often following binging - binge/purge cycles). If this is a one-off it doesn't mean bulimia. However, if it's part of a growing trend then you are right to be concerned.

I know nothing of the cause of your stress eating, but I hope you can find a way to reduce the stress, or limit its duration.

Take some Pepto, keep drinking water, and go lie down. If you throw up, you throw up, but it's better to not induce it if you don't need to. Nothing to do with bulimia (which is a psychological-based pattern of behavior, not just a one-time thing), just the acid in your stomach can tear up your throat, mouth, and teeth, so it's best not to do it voluntarily.

You just ate a bad combination of food; give your body some time to rest and flush it out and you'll be fine.

I don't think throwing up will help you that much. It's probably best to take a few deep breaths and wait it out. Maybe drink some water when you feel like you can take it. *hugs* I'm sorry things are so rough on you right now. You deserve to feel better than this.

Have some hot water or tea. It helps with digestion! (Peppermint is really good for that.)
