I'll probably see it eventually but I really don't think I can support the move to push it to three movies. I'm already annoyed at all the franchises making their last parts into two movies as it is.

Just going to jump in here to mention that a lot of the story from the book is... sketchy at best, and Jackson's taking what we don't hear in the original narration from the Appendices of LotR to flesh out the story. There is a lot we don't hear about that ties directly into the stories to come that he's covering here. So yeah, there's room for three movies. Hell, Mirkwood alone could be it's own movie.
