Yup! They all tend to have usernames like larrystylinson5evr and stuff too, so they make it extra easy to tell that their stories will probably be crap. Luckily, my OTP is the second most popular pairing in the fandom, so I don't have trouble finding non-spam fic, but I imagine for smaller pairings it's really annoying to see that there is a bunch of new fic, only it's actually just a bunch of crap that was already on Tumblr.

I thought so, I ship Zouis so there's already rarely any good fic, but ever since all the awful tumblr writers got their ao3 invites, they've invaded the tags. I click on the Zouis tag and it's full of Larry or Ziam or Gen stories where Zouis is a side pairing or mentioned in passing and I'm just like UGH. Then when I actually DO find something, it's either horribly written or a high school AU which doesn't appeal to me.
