Yes! I used to feel the same but I've mentioned the series here several times since then, and just about every time someone comments saying they like it too. We are legion! There are a surprising number of us!

But yeah, that series will forever be lovely to me, and it was a great part of my childhood. I would've (and still would, given the opportunity) been all over fanfic.

You know, after getting over the initial burst of happiness amd wonder, it makes sense that there are plenty of people who like it. Pendragon did pretty well, judgong by the fact that all 10 of its books got published, and I often see them pop up in libraries. It's just that there's not many fanfics to be found for it - which often happens for children's/YA lit, even if they do well. (Sigh.)

I really need to reread the books; it's just that I really do like them a lot and whenever I read them I get emotionally invested and need to consume fanworks for it. Which, yeah.

It did, yea. 10 books is no light feat! I actually first discovered Pendragon in my high school library, and at the time was worried the series would never finish. I bought the books though, and kept up with the series until it's conclusion. There's also a graphic novel and three side-books about the travelers (which I've yet to read, though I do own one), so it must've been pretty popular. I hear that DJ has another series out now, set in the same town that Bobby lived in. I might check it out!

Me too. Especially since I wasn't entirely satisfied with the ending, so I wish fandom existed to make an ending that would suit my tastes. Hehe.

Haha, I also encountered them in a school library. I didn't actively follow them at first, though: just read a few books and then completely lost track of them, only to rediscover and reread them shortly before, I think it was the 9th book came out. I haven't read the side books, though I meant to. The problem with having ten books out being that usually libraries only have a random assortment of the books in no particular order. (A problem a hundred times more poignant with Animorphs, though). I've heard of the new series, too; I'll put it on my lengthy to-read list.

As for me, I would really love fanfics about all the side characters. Bobby's a great narrator, but there's a new world introduced in every book and a plethora of side characters and I just want to read about them. ;_; Off the top of my head, I remember really wanting to read about Loque, Siry's friend.

Unfortunately yes, that can be a problem at times. I remember reading the Roswell books and having that problem. I'm almost certain I read Animorphs too, at least for a time, but that series was damn long and I never got through it. Libraries are a blessing, but also a curse!

I don't blame you, there were so many side characters in Pendragon and I can barely even remember them now. God, the amount of fanfic those books could've produced! Like you said, each territory was completely unique and filled with it's own cast of characters. It had a lot of potential. ;_;

I would've liked to read more about Loor, tbh. And Alder. I know both got plenty of time but I loved them both so much. And Spader and everyone, really. As for settings, Quillan was one of my favorite territories and books, and that would've been interesting to explore. Not that it hasn't already been done in other books and movies, but still.
