I'm sorry your parents treated you that way. I wasn't physically disciplined as a child, so I can't really talk about its effectiveness with any authority, but it seems to me that if you're going to spank your kid it should be done calmly and not at the height of your anger/frustration with them, and you should explain ahead of time why you're doing it. That way the message isn't "If you make me angry I'll hurt you," but "You misbehaved and this is the consequence."

But telling your twelve-year-old that you won't support them or feed them if they don't behave to your standards...that's way harsh, and I'm sad that you had to deal with that.

Telling kids calmly that they're going to get hit and then doing it gives me the fucking heebie-jeebies. It seriously generates so much DNW

Not that I'm ok with the alternative (spanking in the heat of the moment when you're mad). imo the only time you should spank "in the moment" is to prevent dangerous behavior (and even then...it might not be the best response).

btw, I love your icon! I don't think I've seen that Vriska art yet.
