(Anonymous) 2012-12-28 04:50 am (UTC)(link)but we're getting into the linguistic mess again where people use the same word and mean different things.
for me, I was spanked a couple of times, my siblings were spanked a couple of times. it was embarrassing but better than getting a lecture from my Dad, who is a MASTER scolder. The spankings we got always started with being sat down, after multiple warnings, and told "You did x. X is wrong because X. You are not listening to me and not changing your behavior." then we got put over a knee and swatted on the clothed backside maybe four or five times. You get up, it stings, you're embarrasses, and then Mom or Dad hugs you. And says again that it was wrong. And by that point we're paying attention.
