New 52's been an absolute mess. About the only things worth reading are Batman and Animal Man.

You'd recommend Animal Man? I'm dropping a couple of titles (Detective Comics has been one big pile of I don't care) and am open to trying one or two new ones.

I haven't read Animal Man yet, but I've heard a lot of people say that they were really surprised by how much they like it so maybe I'll give it a shot.

I've heard some pretty good things about the new Aquaman too but that was a while ago so for all I know, it may have gone downhill since then

I really tried to like the New 52 but it's painfully obvious that no one at the editorial level knows what the fuck they're doing.

The fact that the only worthwhile books are the ones where the creators have basically no editorial oversight says a lot.

Yeah, that seems to be the gist of it. I'm actually starting to lean toward that conspiracy theory that Marvel and DC are actively trying to shut down their comics division. Like, do these people seriously not understand that if the majority of their customers hate what they're doing to their product, maybe they should consider not doing that?

Now I'm depressed. I haven't been following the new Stormwatch, but I've been meaning to, since I'm a Midnighter fan. What the hell, DC?

I swear I didn't make this secret! But I'm always pleased to see other Authority fans on the comm.

I have read the 'will change the team forever' thing, but I had no idea what it was referring to. It didn't even cross my mind that they could be making Jenny older. (Dumb of me, I know.) But maybe even if they did it wouldn't be too bad? They dealt with it well in the past, but I know the new Stormwatch is not even close to the same thing, and I can see why you'd have your worries. (The series as a whole is underwhelming and hugely disappointing, but I keep reading anyway.)

And I hadn't seen the 'amazon' thing. Uh...not to spoil anything for anyone, but they've just had a rough patch, why do they need yet another that sounds like it'll make one of them question their sexuality? (It was so refreshing how in love Midnighter and Apollo were in Authority, and how comfortable they were with their sexuality.)

I miss old Authority where Apollo and Midnighter didn't have 'real' names and were constantly being affectionate and adorable together. I guess it couldn't have went on forever, though. I just wish the new version was more in spirit with the old one.

The phrase "will change the team forever" has been a phrase DC has thrown around like rice at a wedding since they first brought together the Justice League. A superhero team has never once been truly changed forever by something heralded by a notice like that. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

I was scrolling down the page and saw a glimpse of Seth and Amy and thought there was going to be a Weekend Update secret.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you added an SNL image to your post, this alone ruins any credibility you may have had. Not that SNL is bad in general but the fact that it's from the newer seasons destroys any credibility your post may have had. This show sucks and in turn makes you suck. The newer seasons are terrible and that makes you terrible for posting this.

I hate to sound rude but please never post any images of the newer SNL cast members in the future should you want to be taken seriously. People consider this cross section of SNL cast members to be the ruination of SNL, so please avoid linking your posts to suckyassed images of the worst of a generation.
