I think because they're not so much secrets as they are "Pay Attention To Me and My Fandom" attempts. So they go on and on about their thoughts on Kpop yaoi, trying to cram a 'K-pop 101' primer in there.

I think you're probably right. Which is both sad and annoying, since there are much more interesting things about K-pop and J-pop and ways to lure new fans in. Although the fandoms themselves are fail in a lot of ways.
