Well, if she's not enjoying the show, she's not enjoying the show. She should stop. But if the reason she's stopped enjoying the show is because Rumplestiltskin is canonically paired with someone other than herself... in a show where just about everyone of age is paired off then gee wiz. It's hard to muster much sympathy for that.

Or she could just write self-insert fic and get it out of her system? I've never understood the impulse to be jealous of a fictional character to the point where someone stops watching/reading/playing the source material said character is from. It's not as though people who fall for fictional characters have a chance with them, unless they write fiction starring themselves opposite the object of their affections. They don't have to post it anywhere. I don't think even the most delusional fangirl (did the OP ever specify their gender?) actually expects the script-writers or show-runners to write them into the show. At least, I hope not.

God, no, I don't expect that :D The whole shipping him with myself thing was kind of a joke. Yes, I do find Rumple/Gold very smexy and wouldn't have minded getting him for Christmas... But I am in no way delusional or jealous of a fictional character. I just really dislike Rumbelle as a pairing (and don't find Belle that interesting as a character) now that I've watched the series further. And while I'm all for character development, I was afraid one of my favorite villains was going to turn into a mushy goody-two-shoes because of True Wuw.

This is kinda off topic, but I'm curious how you came to the conclusion that "just about everyone of age" is paired off. Even as a hyperbole, that's a bit of an odd statement to make; at the present time, Emma, Regina, Archie, Ruby, Victor, August, Jefferson, Mulan, Killian, Aurora, the Blue Fairy, George, and Cora are not paired off with anyone. Most were romantically involved with someone in the past, but those partners are either dead or missing. The only longstanding relationship on the show is Snow/Charming (and Ashley/Thomas, but they only appeared in, what, two episodes?).

Yes, but they've all got romantic pasts and 90 percent of the show is about one person or other trying to reconnect with their their loved one. I mean, hell, even Grumpy is paired up with the blue fairy. All of those characters you mentioned with the exception of Jefferson, has a lover and a romantic arc that has been shown on screen.

Archie, Victor, August, and the Blue Fairy don't have romantic arcs.

The reason why I stressed "at the present time" in my original comment was to tie it into the OP's secret. It's one thing to have a romantic past, but it's another to have it playing such a big huge in the character's present-day life and interactions.
