I've never even seen the show, I'm just rolling my eyes at all of the idiots who are trying to claim that the misogyny and everything that comes with it isn't "realistic" for a society based on medieval times.

Aside from the fact that GRRM's books aren't as historically realistic as people like to claim (there was a link up-thread examining the "realism"), people aren't saying it didn't exist. They're saying they'd rather not read about it (and some are boggling at all the apologist who seem to take offense that people are taking offense).
