I've been in het and f/f fandoms for fifteen years, and I can count on the fingers of three fingers the number of male writers I've come across. I think your numbers are well off.

maybe they're not in *lj/dw* fandom, but if you havent seen the shitloads of terribad lesbian fandom porn written by men, you havent seen much of fandom as a whole

This completely depends on where you hang out. I've seen tons of men writing femslash and het on FFN, Gamefaqs, and small BBSes. Away from lj/dw/AO3, yuri fandom appears to be mostly men. My FFN femslash fics get a lot of hits and little feedback (compared to the amount of feedback they get elsewhere) and I always assume that's mostly male lurkers.

ATWYR - Fandom selection will make a difference. I have no experience at all of animanga fandom, f'rinstance. And while I've followed fandom all over the place FFN/LJ/BBS/Y!Clubs/Y!Groups/AFN/Alt.net/AO3/etc the fandoms themselves have largely been Western dramas with mid-sized active fandoms.
