Not an expert here, but I think, generally speaking, when pills come with "take with food"/"take on an empty stomach" warnings, it's not so much that the pills are going to be rendered useless (because if they can survive your stomach acid, they can survive a bit of peanut butter), but that they've found that people are less prone to feeling nauseated when the pills are taken on an empty (or not) stomach. If taking them without makes you feel sick, then taking them with a bit of food should be fine.
