Sadly, I can completely relate to that example.

This doesn't surprise me.

I once used the word "crazy" in reference to myself (on F!S, actually; it was a secret about mental illnesses); I don't remember my exact comment, but some uppity SJW rode in on their white horse and tried to tell me how, if I really had a real mental illness, then I should be offended by the word "crazy", and if I did, then clearly I'm a self-hating bigot who has internalized my ableism. Thank you, all-knowing SJW commenter, for correcting me. I definitely need you to tell me how I SHOULD be referring to myself in order to be a ~real~ victim.

Well, thank God you had someone who (very probably) doesn't have any sort of mental illness whatsoever to tell you what you're doing wrong! I'm sure you were properly grateful for that schooling!

I was told by someone (online) that I shouldn't call myself (not other people, just myself!) "brain-damaged" even though if you go to Wikipedia and look up Cerebral Palsy, you'll find that CP literally is brain damage.

Oh, and I shouldn't claim to have CP because I'm so mildly affected that if you met me IRL you'd never even know. So I FAIL at having CP. Or something, IDEK.

tl;dr @ self, also, can someone explain the concept of a tone argument to me? I've seen people reference it many times, but I don't quite fully understand what it means.
