That and this is a generation that grew up on video games from infancy. The average gamer is in his/her thirties. So, it's not like you, if you are in your 30's, is going to be the only adult in a sea of tweens and teens. If anything, you are going to find more adults than kids because adults are more likely to have the funds to buy those games.

Exactly. We grew up with gaming and gaming grew up with us. There's no real precedent in place to make us let it go because it wasn't an issue previous generations had to face. Their toys for kids stayed toys for kids. Ours didn't.

I'd say the days of video games being mostly for children were long gone, but I'm not sure they were ever there to begin with. As for today, well, I've just taken a look at the front page of Steam. Not only are none of the featured games targeted at children, a good chunk of them aren't even suitable.

Today's sale couldn't have been a better example. Skyrim, The Witcher and GTA. You know, for kids!
