I haven't seen it, but I'm willing to take your word for that.

That's sort of strange, though, considering that an earlier draft of TLK's script has Zazu and Mufasa sounding a lot more Nazi-like than Scar does. The whole thing about keeping the hyenas out of the pride lands was being explained in terms of "those stupid, lazy, good-for-nothing immigrants who eat too much and don't contribute." And then, of course, Scar goes and wrecks the country kingdom by inviting them in and letting them hunt and multiply. I'm glad that, in this instance, Disney edited out the blatant racism before releasing it. We were still left with two very ghetto-sounding hyenas, played by an African-American actress and a Mexican-American comedian who's known for his pronounced Mexican accent. (I'm not really counting Ed because he doesn't get a speaking part.) It also puts Scar's "you NEED me, because you're too dumb to organize anything like this on your own" in an ickier light. But at least, in the final cut, the good guys weren't being horribly offensive, too.
