I pray about them. For me, it reinforces the knowledge that God is in overseeing, and I want to please him.

I realise this isn't for everyone but in my experience many people find a similar setup works for them. If you tell someone you trust and respect that you are trying to achieve X, you have the added drive of wanting to make them happy/impressed with you. This can work whether they are human, divine, friend, family, teacher, whatever
