That explains it, I'm not on Tumblr (so little time...) so I wasn't even aware of how popular Thranduil had gotten. I did a search for Thranduil images when The Hobbit was first announced, saw some on DeviantArt, but nothing like this.

Hot Dwarves- I think they took a page from Dragon Age, lol.

I've come across Elrond fans on LJ, and on other sites, fanfic sites, too. I can't remember what title it was or where it was, but I once came across a fascinating LOTR/STNG crossover with Elrond/Picard- I think it was called "Son of the Stars". Elrond fans are out there, and I know some irl. I agree, Elrond does need some love and shouldn't be forgotten in the current fandom.

Fandomsecrets is indeed informative!

You're probably better off without tumblr tbh. It is a time waster, lol. I can't keep up with my dash unless I'm on all day, and I don't even follow that many people.

I can't say I blame them... Or mind. Varric was gorgeous. (And awesome.)

I can't even tell you the last time I went to LJ for something that wasn't icons or a Kink Meme. I've probably missed so many comms. It's sad because I used to be there constantly, for everything, but fandom is changing.

And I'm sure there's some Elrond fanfic, I just haven't seen any recently. But then again, maybe I need to look at LJ comms for that...

Elrond/Picard, lmao, fandom comes up with the most random pairings. I don't deny that they can sometimes make it work, though!

I haven't even figured out how Tumblr works, lol, but I can imagine.

It's time for some Dwarf love, yeah :) DA Dwarves are just awesome!

Fandoms are changing, and LJ is dying. It's so dead there, so many people have left because of the changes. It's sad. I'm in the progress of making DW here my main internetz home.

I was amazed when I came across that Elrond/Picard. Not my usual kind of thing, but I was inpressed by the amount of work put into it, how the writer actually made it work.

If you want Elrond fic you need to find the LotR archives from the 2000-2004 days - if they still exist. There was plenty of fic for him back then.

Even back then I didn't find much fic of him. I have so much bad luck in LOTR fandom it seems...

(But once I can pull myself away from Thorin/Bilbo, I'm definitely going to look.) Thanks for the suggestion!

Well I burrowed deep in the elfslash part of fandom back then, so if that's good for you, concentrate on elfslash.

The Bagginsheild rocks my socks.

Burrowed deep...was that an intentional Helm's Deep reference, or just a happy coincidence?

Happy coincidence, though the pairing that directly followed Aragorn/Boromir and was my gateway into elfslash was Eomer/Haldir (with a couple of memorable fics about bonding to save Haldir's life).

Fandom seriously does ship everything, haha. (Not that it's a bad thing, just amusing.)
