Just a friendly reminder that most everybody you think is still okay to like probably has a bastard out there somewhere. :)

I chuckled.

Actually...

(Anonymous) 2013-01-02 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, mte!

(Anonymous) 2013-01-02 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps it's because even in fantasy's you can't compete with a kid. You know there's somebody out there who is your crush's number one priority, above any exciting adventures you guys could possibly have together.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-02 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Me too. I just fucking hate kids though, so. Like, I follow your Twitter because you're a funny, smart man and I like the character you play, dude. I don't care that your 8 year old put chocolate sauce on her waffles and I don't want to see before, during, and after pics.

(I have since stopped following his Twitter, before anyone decides to tell me to.)

Nasir's actor, right? I follow him on twitter too but I haven't been near twitter in a while. Back when I was reading his tweets regularly he didn't talk that much about his wife or daughter, but it didn't bother me when he did. If he does it constantly I can understand a bit of irritation though, simply because the world does not need to know every little thing that goes on in a persons life; it's tedious. However...if that's how the person uses twitter and you continue to follow them...well, that's your fault. You've already said you stopped following him though, so that's good. I've stopped following a couple of celebrities because of reasons similar to that, too. (I don't hate kids personally, but I'm not all that interested in reading about them either.)

OP: sorry about the crush thing.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-02 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, come on; you know he's got to make sure that everyone knows he's not one of those real life homosexuals. /rolls eyes.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-02 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
That would be blabbering endlessly about one's opposite-sex partner. Real life homosexuals are fully capable of talking endlessly about their kids.

This really. I know plenty of gay folks who guys about their kids. That's not a heterosexual thing, that's a parent thing

(Anonymous) 2013-01-02 12:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Because there are no homosexual parents out there, right?

Grats on being an ignorant ass.

i get that. i don't really have any maternal instincts and i don't really get how some people start cooing over pictures of crushes with their kids or other kids or w/e.

of course i don't really follow anybody on twitter, i just get to see the pictures they post on twitter on tumblr reblogged multiple times and i can't saviour all of that shit :|

Same here. Weird quirks.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-02 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
I can understand that. Even if it's just a casual fantasy, it helps if it's at least vaguely plausible. Parents and young children don't just break up the way romantic partners do, so you can't get rid of the kids. Unless you are willing to "write out" the baby mamma/daddy and want to be a step-parent, the fantasy becomes less plausible. (Incompatible sexual orientation would kill it for me, although it wouldn't make me feel bad because it wouldn't matter if I'd gotten there earlier.)

(Anonymous) 2013-01-02 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
This. Also, the kid is oftentimes a permanent link to an ex-partner - whether biological, parental commitment-wise, or both - which can be a fantasy buzzkill as well.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-02 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
I do this with celebs who are married. Totally a fantasy buzzkill because my morals get in the way. I don't think it's that unreasonable.

Strangely, I'm the complete opposite and yet I'm 100% childfree. I think it's wonderful and seriously adorable when the guys I like have kids, especially if they look like 'good dads' from papa pics.

(ie Cillian Murphy, etc)

I think for a lot of people, the second you realize you're fantasizing about someone's dad you start to feel self-conscious about it. I do, anyway.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-02 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
I'm exactly the same way, I try not to be like that, but I can't help it. I try to learn as little as possible about most actors that I like, that way I can't be disappointed.
