I don't think there's any problem in finding yaoi dynamics pleasurable, most of the fanrage against it seems (in my experience/opinion) to be directed at fans who think those dynamics-- the pathetic helpless partner and the aggressive controlling partner-- constitute a healthy and desirable relationship.

Kinda like my thoughts on Twi-hards/Twi-haters, I guess.

Most of the rage I see is from people who THINK that yaoi fans think that dynamic is normal/healthy/real etc. Some probably do, but in my experience the haters pretend everybody believes it.

I have encountered some yaoi fans who do think that dynamic is healthy and romantic in the real world, but they tend to be very young. So I figure with any luck, they'll grow out of it.

I would think that they do. I generally interact only with older fans and can't think offhand of anybody with that attitude. It might be an annoying viewpoint but I can't fault people for the inexperience of youth. That's life.

Meh, I think subs are often really cute, and definitely get more hate & judgement than they deserve. If that's your kink, go for it. You only live once and you should do what makes you happy.

Just be careful out there, I've met some batshit crazy doms. There are some great ones, but it takes some weeding out.

They don't admit it, but it's true. I mean, you've only to look at BL -- it's nearly all from the uke's point of view. It's all about being cherished and pursued and smexed up, not because of anything you do or work at, but simply because you are that attractive and innocent and wonderful. It's a really powerful, popular kink, and it actually shows up in places other than Yaoi (I'm looking at you Twilight!).

I like a sort of subset of the seme/uke stereotype - where the uke isn't a useless, blooming flower, but actually capable of kicking ass and taking names, but isn't the dominant one in the relationship. I'm usually too afraid to say that though, because I fear people will turn that into OMG YOU LIKE COKE BOTTLE RAPE UKE? and I'm not even going to go there.

Eh, I think you're a couple years late to cause wank with this one. I think most people know that plenty of people are into yaoi for that, whether they admit it or not. Otherwise it wouldn't be so common in the fiction. Posting an anonymous secret isn't exactly "admitting it" in your part, either.

I actually have a sub kink to an extent but i dont like a lot of the seme/uke things because they'll use those terms or the uke will be really fucking annoying and how can you identify with that wtf
