May I ask if any of you lovely people know anything about Pontiac Sunfires?

Not like, general stuff, but if you've ever had one/known someone who's had one, if you have any personal opinions/information/etc. :)

I had two friends who had them. Personally, I didn't care for them because they had two doors and where we lived the parking spaces were always tight. My one friend drove all over the country in hers and only got rid of it when she got into an accident (someone hit her and totaled the car) and I believe my other friend still has hers.

Yes, I sold mine to my cousin. It's a bit of a ball of problems. She backed into another vehicle from sliding, it was just a bump, and the head gasket blew. That's a pretty big, time-consuming and expensive repair job.

The ABS have gotten louder and louder as well. Not to mention, it's stalled before, and it's an automatic lol. She's a pretty careful driver and doesn't do silly things to her vehicle. She simply uses it to get from one place to the other.

I couldn't really tell you much past these things though D:

Yes, I am. My Mum and I went to many used car dealerships in my area yesterday, and this one seemed (at the time) like the best option for my price range, so I'm trying to look more into them. :)

Mine was 2004

I called my cousin about it just now, and she said problems aside, it does run fine and it's a good enough car, especially if you know you're not going to have it for years and years and years (if it lasts). It's her first car and I sold it to her for only $200, and she knew about its history and planned on getting something else anyway. She just needed a vehicle to get her to work and stuff for now.

Ooh, were you able to plug your mp3 player (if you had one) into it? I've heard that that is a Thing One Can Do, but is it really? :D

Yeah, no, I really just need one for the next two, maybe three years (though if it ran afterwards, that would be lovely). I just need something to travel between home and work~

My mom had one and didn't like it, but I honestly don't remember why. She got rid of it after a really short time, like maybe a couple of months.

If you're asking because you're thinking about buying one, I'd advise against it since Pontiac doesn't exist anymore. If you have problems with the car and need replacement parts, it could be very difficult and extremely expensive to get them and they'd most likely be used.

My immediate family had an older used one (that was the 2nd, "short errands" vehicle) for years. It ran well, never had problems, was hellish to drive in bad weather (fishtail ahoy) but with the proper set of tires, the older models are fairly sturdy, AFAIK. Also, I have an aunt who swore by them for decades, that was literally all she drove, and one of them saved my cousin's life, so.

These were older models though, I can't comment on the newer models, they are likely plastic pieces of garbage, like most vehicles these days.

Wow, and I've just read through the other comments, and should add, these vehicles I'm talking about were in the 1980s, and all were under ten years old (my aunt kept hers new with trade-ins). Seems like Pontiac has not held up as well as it used to. Shame.

Yeah, I was looking at the older cars, but all the older cars are at really sketch auto dealers in my town; older cars for sale exist, of course, and there was a really nice old El Dorado, but it was from a place that was just so super sketch it wasn't even funny. D:

For some reason New 52 made them slutty.
