Oh boy, I thought Neji's death was going to cause a shitstorm, but the chapter after it blew that away. So, Naruto is a second away from giving up and someone slaps sense into him. He then makes a comment about this person, a girl, always being by his side. He grabs her hand and holds it, and gets ready to charge into battle with her. The issue? It was Hinata, not Sakura.

The NaruHina fans are rejoicing, the NaruSaku fans are bitterly angsting over it. I find it amusing that some of them are saying Hinata is a horrible person for commenting about Naruto holding her hand, yet Sakura's look of horror must be because she's jealous and not because Neji just died. As if that would make her character any better. :X

I remember being such a NaruHina shipper when I was younger and now after years and years of this I get Naruto using the POWER OF LOVE WITH HINATA!

hahaahaaha wait what are the nejihina fans saying? I'm one of those, at least in spirit anyways. Are we a shouty mob? Man this makes me want to unragequit that manga to see what's going on.

I've seen mostly NaruHina/NaruSaku fans, but I suppose there could be a mostly silent group of other shippers angered by the recent few chapters!

If you want to know a short version of what's going on and don't mind spoilers....

Obito is Tobi. He was saved by Madara and had half of his body replaced by a zetsu. He saw Kakashi kill Rin and decided to ragequit this reality and make a new one with the help of Madara/the ten tails. The kyubi became friends with Naruto and they're on a first name basis now (His name is Kurama) There's a shitstorm war going on right now, as everyone is trying to stop Emobito from destroying the world. Naruto gives him a "we can do it!" rant and he gets pissy. He fires off the ten tails to prove a point, resulting in both Hinata and Neji shielding Naruto with their bodies. Neji dies and Obito goes on to guilt trip. Hinata slaps Naruto and, well, basically what I said above. :B

Oh my god, this sounds hilarious. It's like every crackpot fan theory actually happened. What's going on with Sasuke at the moment? I quit around the time he deciding starting a war would be the best way to honor his brother's memory.

Heh, knew it would be Hinata before I finished reading the paragraph. I don't know why, but NaruHina always seemed like the endgame to me, so no surprises here.

I just read the chapter, and holy shit. I didn't ship NaruSaku but goddamn man, she was on his team. Way to keep making her utterly irrelevant, Kishimoto.

My guess is that she will have her arc with Sasuke's return. Which isn't any better, of course

Hinata? Fucking seriously? Ugh. I don't hate the girl (never really got much from her and then i stopped reading...), but, uh, SAKURA has been there by him for as long as she could, outside those training years between gaps.

Not buying that, Naruto. Up to the point I stopped reading, Hinata may have been the one person in Konoha who never shunned you, but she was never THERE for you. Not the way Sakura was. Or Kakashi was. Or even Tsunade.

Ugh. So glad I stopped reading...cause now I'm convinced he's gonna do Sasuke/Sakura....which is a major squick for me. EW.

Yeah, the only time I can think of is when Hinata suicide dived Pain to protect Naruto, that's it. He didn't even acknowledge her confession either, which was just weird writing I think.

Holy crap, I forgot about that.

He really didn't knowledge that. It was just boom!! She's almost dead and...that's it. No declaration of love from him just "aw, darn" and that's it.

so many of his moves seems specifically designed to create the most uproar of the fanbase with the least effort on his part

I'm more or less neutral about NaruHina, but I can understand why NaruSaku fans are disappointed. Another ship has been pushed closer to validation especially with the endless one-sided relationships this manga throws at readers, I'm not surprised people are upset or resentful. One half of my own ship has been killed so I'm a bit sad about that too.

Honestly it's hard to read any other character's feelings aside from Hinata, Naruto and Obito at the moment so it's kind of a waste of time for people to be over-analyzing everyone's tiny facial expressions.

Hinata has always gotten random hate from fans. She's one of my favorite characters and after all this time a few comments don't really bother me too much. People are just venting their disappointment.

The only bad thing is that it reignited the shipwars and personal insults. :(
