Chara for character. I just cannot stand it. And Evoo for extra-virgin olive oil. For a long, long time I hated "totes" for "totally" but I'm starting to tolerate it, and even will use it (but only if I'm mocking a flighty personality).

'Chara' is a new one on me; I will infrequently type 'char.' if I'm in a rush or writing a long email, and everyone I've ever said it to knows what I mean, but 'chara' seems a bit pointless. Why add an unnecessary syllable to your abbreviation?

I've started to accept totes, but I still cannot make myself like "adorbs."

I'm ashamed to admit that I use EVOO (in all caps, as it's an acronym) all the time when writing down recipes. Sometimes even out loud. (And then have to get asked for clarification because when I'm talking about recipes, I'm usually cooking with Mum.)

...And totes.
