I don't understand why all the comics fans watch this show because you all have something that you're disappointed about. I especially hate that there are so many who cannot separate the two mediums and seem to think that the show we're all watching is supposed to be the same as the comics they've read.

Wow! Way to over generalize there!

*SPOILERS* I love the comics and I love the show but for very different reasons. The comics are a lot darker. I like the progression and how much content there is in the same way I like to read the books for movies. I like Lori a whole lot better in the comics and I really didn't like how Carol ended. I wasn't a big fan of Shane. I hate that Rick lost his hand. In the show I love Shane, Carol, the Dixons. Shane in the comics was useless. Carol is much stronger character though I really wish she would have had the chance to have just a little of the experimental side we saw in the comics. I love the dynamic between the Dixons and I really enjoyed the added Randall(and Dave/Tony) sideline.

I read the comics for different reasons than I watch the show. I love that they're doing different things but yeah, I'm sad that some of the things I really liked from the comics aren't making it on to the screen. Doesn't mean I dislike the show or that I can't enjoy it. It just means that I'm disappointed.

You just proved the point. The only generalization was that you all have something you're disappointed about.

The comics fans aren't the only watchers with complaints about the show, lol.

Didn't say that they were.

That's how it is for almost every fandom that has more than one types of media. The comic fans are going to keep watching the show because we're attached to the story, no matter how it diverges. Has this really been the only fandom you've been in that has both comic/book fans and show/movie fans? I can't get away from it for GoT/ASoIaF, but then again, I don't mind it.

This is the only multiple-media fandom I've been in where the fans of the original whine incessantly about the differences. The majority of WD comics fans I've met really don't enjoy the show at all.
