I don't particularly want to see him tortured, but I hope the actor gets cast in something else so he doesn't stay a series regular. When I first saw who they cast as Hook, I drooled a bit, ngl. Then the writers turned the character into a bully who thinks rape innuendo counts as flirting. A lot of people who don't like him seem to think he's not a good villain, but I think he's a great one. Too much of one for me to enjoy watching him, because while it's not likely that I'll ever have to deal with someone who can reach in and rip my heart out, I've had bullies do the "if you're not willing to fight for what I'm stealing from you, you don't deserve to keep it" thing, and douchebags think that flirting=rape jokes. Combine those two attitudes in one person and you get "if you're not willing to fight off a rapist, you deserve to be raped." I'm fairly certain I'm reading something different than the writers intended into him, but that's where my brain went. Er-didn't mean to write an essay, but I really dislike this character. It's too bad; the actor is really good looking but I can't even enjoy watching him as this character anymore, I get too skeeved out.

I've had bullies do the "if you're not willing to fight for what I'm stealing from you, you don't deserve to keep it" thing

except in that particular case it wasn't a fight for a thing but a person, a person who willing choose to go with Hook, not to say he wasn't major douchebag for making it sound nonconsensual to Rumple

NTAYRT, but... Rumpelstiltskin thought his wife was being abducted by pirates (based on what the lady who came to the door said). Hook told him that because he (a disabled man with a young child) wasn't willing to swordfight an able-bodied pirate with a crew of men on his side, that meant Rumpelstiltskin 'deserved' to have his wife kidnapped and raped by pirates. He was distinctly implying to Rumpelstiltskin that he HAD taken his wife by force and that he and his whole crew would rape her. Then his shit with Emma later on. Like there's really no way to make Hook not a shitstain.

Ugh, everything you said. I started hating him at that comment he made when the ladies were disagreeing vehemently and he was like, "Don't be afraid to really go at it while I sit here and leer at you."

He's creepy. I can't enjoy him as a villain, not like the way I enjoy Rumplestitskin. I feel no delight or sense of fun watching him, I just want Emma to punch him in the face a lot.
