Don't worry. I always get mad when they make Bane a meathead.

Good lord this so much! Bane is my favourite of Batman's rogues so I get rather sad when he's written so terribly.

But, comics.

But metalokinetic sounds much better than magnetic field manipulator.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-03 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
...no, it doesn't.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-03 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
DA

Also, I'm fairly sure "metallokinetic" has two L's in it.

It is both

A: inaccurate because that's not even a real word

and

B: Your taste in audio aesthetics is bad and you should feel bad.

I cannot think of Magneto without thinking of that one scene in the old X-Men cartoon where Xavier stops and says "My watch. It's been magnetized" and then drops his watch where it clanks onto his magic yellow schoolbus hoverchair thing. Dun dun dunnnnnnn.

I remember that scene! Don't remember the context, though. Only the Magneto Wuz Here significance.

Context: Senator Kelly had been kidnapped and they were trying to figure out who was behind it. Then Xavier had his big David Caruso moment without the sunglasses. LOL

And you can do so much more with magnetic powers too.

Create your own Aurora Borealis, disrupt telecommunications, ruin someone's computer screen.

ruin someone's computer screen

You mean like this? :)

From here

(Anonymous) 2013-01-03 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
haha yes, truly the most horrify power that exists

(Anonymous) 2013-01-03 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
I don't like when they have him manipulating non-magnetic metals.

Magneto's powers, like nearly any long-running superhero's powers, change to fit the requirements of the story.

This is one of many reasons why superhero comics are endlessly frustrating.

Thank you, I was coming here to point this out myself, that the name 'Magneto' is something of a misnomer, because he (generally, as far as I've seen/read/remember) can manipulate metals that aren't magnetic.

Coins, on general principle, aren't magnetic to prevent them from being stolen with a magnetic brick, but he can still manipulate them just fine.

I honestly hate it that I can't take a secret seriously anymore once I find out the OP is British :(

(Anonymous) 2013-01-03 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
...I didn't even realize I was having that problem, but now that you've mentioned it, it might be true for me too. :/

(Anonymous) 2013-01-03 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
SO glad I'm not alone!
