The most interesting fandom to think about food for is Pokemon, for me. I mean, Pokemon are pretty clearly sapient in a lot of cases, and yet in the anime, Ash fantasises about eating Magikarp. And I'm just thinking, what would the local Gyarados think about that...? Why is Ash fantasising about eating a sapient being? Are people generally vegetarian in the Pokeverse, since they've largely retconned out non-Pokemon animals but there's still plenty of plants around? Do people make scrambled unfertilised Pokemon eggs? These are big questions!
