Lots of people can't have a conversation over loud music! I sometimes have trouble with it because my ears are kinda shitty. I know plenty of other people who (like some of the people on this thread) just find that it's too much sensory stimulation and they can't really focus on talking. (It can do that to me too after a period of time, though usually not right away.)
