There are people who think that? Jesus. I thought the whole point is that you're in the head of a horrible person doing horrible things. That's what makes it interesting.

It's funny that when you think about it, the early 'bad' end when you can tell Saya to put your brain back to normal is actually the best. Fuminori's safely locked away with no cosmic horror colonizing the world and a minimum of murders.

I though that was the point and actually the meaning of the story since it's in the POV of Fuminori. That's also the reason that I first went out of my way to discover how to download and play it.

I feel the same way. Fuminori is so completely unlikeable.

Yeah. I can't understand people who thought it was a beautiful, tragic love story. Saya may have cared for Fuminori (and even that's questionable, since her entire existence is about spreading her spores to other species) but she certainly didn't care about anyone else. And someone who can relate to an insane, sadistic cannibal is someone I never want to meet.

Whatever. All I know is that I hate this visual novel and to this day I wish I'd never played it.

It's been a while since I played it, but wasn't it that he wasn't a cannibal, but that the reason he ate them was because to him it seemed like edible food, but real food seemed like garbage because of his messed-up sense?

And also towards the ending it's said that Saya adapted from the stories that she read and developed the romance/love and to reproduce her spores as it resembled the pregnancy of humans.

Fuminori initially has no idea that what he and Saya are eating is human flesh, but iirc he eventually finds out (or deduces) the truth and isn't especially bothered by it.

That would still make him a cannibal though, since he's a human eating humans. I can understand that it's the only thing that tasted good to him, but yeah, he was still eating his own species.

But fair point on the second point, I must have forgotten that part.

Romanticizing Saya and Fuminori I've definitely seen before, people not sympathizing with Ryouko because she's cold I can understand, but do people really think those other things...? I mean, it's ultimately a horrific story about horrific people, that's the point, but it's understandable to get somewhat attached to the perspective you're seeing the story through (to a point; I can't imagine how anyone thinks Yoh or Omi deserved any of it).

Eh, I guess I'm one of the bad people then, because I do think it was an amazing romance story, featuring eldritch abomination and a guy on his roead to insanity. And yes, they are both terrible beings and do horrible things, but at the same time they really love each other. I found it fascinating. Not to mention unique as far as visual novel romance settings and stories go.
And yes, I do feel bad for other characters, but it's a cosmic horror story, it's given terrible stuff will happen to people. And from storyteller point of view it's better to let you know and care for the characters that are going to get killed (if not worse) later.
