Since the pic is from Tall Tales, I'm going to take a wild guess that the rarepair you write for is either Sam/Gabe or Dean/Gabe? I'm more inclined to say Dean/Gabe since Sam/Gabe isn't exactly a rarepair, though. I keep trying to decide exactly what would be considered a rival ship for either of those, too, and I keep coming up with nothing...

Either way, I say keep writing. Both of those pairings deserve more fic.

Maybe if it's Dean/Gabe? Sam/Gabriel is usually bg in a lot of Destiel fics, so I'd consider them more complimentary than anything. I've kind of always considered the rival ship for Destiel to be Wincest, though, just because there are quite a few shippers in those ships that can be pretty passionate about how much they hate the other ship.

Then again, maybe I'm totally wrong and the ship in question is Gabe/Bobby and the rival ship they hate is Gabe/Crowley or Crobby. Lol.

Dean/Gabe was my first thought. Rival pairing might actually be Sam/Gabe? No idea either way. I just know I like both pairings :D

That seems to make the most sense. I like Dean/Gabe, but I've never actually thought about it having a rival pairing. Then again, I tend to think of rival pairings as pairings wherein the shippers wank at each other a lot and are pretty vocal about how much they hate the other pairing because said pairing isn't as awesome or ~almost canon~ as their pairing, and I don't think I've ever seen that with Dean/Gabe. But it is a pretty tiny ship, so maybe I've been too busy being amazed when it shows up and I've somehow missed all that. Lol.

If Sam/Gabriel is a rarepair I'll eat my hat, most people who ship Dean/Castiel like Sam/Gabriel and I see it everywhere on Tumblr.

So if it's Dean/Gabriel, is the ship you dislike Dean/Castiel, Sam/Gabriel, or both?

(Sam/Gabriel is a very odd ship for me in that I'm charmed by a lot of the fanworks available, it's a lot of fun, but objectively speaking, from the canonical material, it makes only marginally more sense than the secondary mutations in secret #4 and has less empirical evidence.)

Seriously? That sucks. Most of the Sam/Gabe shippers I know are pretty chill about things. Not as chill as Sassy shippers, but I'm pretty sure Sassy shippers are actually made of rainbows, so that's kind of hard to beat.

Really? Well Tumblr fangirls are vicious, I find. Even when they don't have much competition. Not quite sure about other ships, but I've seen Destiel fangirls get worked up over absolutely nothing.

Have to agree about the Sassy shippers though. I've never met nicer people tbh.

So you're a Dean/Gabriel fan then? And the rival ship is Sam/Gabriel? If so, you're not alone. I love Dean/Gabriel and...well, mostly I just don't understand where the Sam/Gabriel shippers are coming from. Either way, the pairing is so hard to find I've basically given up looking. *sigh*
